Michelin-starred chefs proclaim Welsh sea salt one of the world’s top five products

   

The only sea salt from Anglesey has joined the ranks of the food and drink elite in a recent competition judged by Michelin-starred chefs. The highly-acclaimed Feria de Gastronomía voted the range of sea salts from multi-award winning company Halen Môn, as one of the world’s top five gastronomic products.

The Feria de Gastronomía – Europe’s Gastronomic Congress –hosts some of the world’s most famous chefs for three days of cooking, eating, drinking and celebrating all things gastronomic. Annually the congress nominates the five best products in the world judged to have significantly raised the quality of gastronomy.

Alison Lea-Wilson, co-founder of Halen Môn with husband David, comments: “We are delighted to have been recognised in this year’s Feria de Gastronomía. This award demonstrates the respect that world-renowned chefs have for producing a basic ingredient like sea salt and transforming it into the very best in terms of flavour, purity and quality.”
